We are very excited to be staring the year with a series of shows – kicking off in February at Clerkenwel’’s Wilmington Arms. This first show is part of the ROUT OF THE BLUES series which has seen the likes of Alistair Roberts, Circulus & The Owl Service perform in the last year. Support that night comes from South-East London folk rockers MILKWOOD. If that all sounds too cosmopolitan, then our next show on February 18th is in the atmospheric setting of St Mary Magdalene Church, Dunton Village, Bedfordshire. This is promoted by the lovely people at Dunton Folk who specialise in Local Cider production – check out their specialist brewery here http://www.duntoncider.co.uk/

On Sunday 23rd October Megson will be performing at Hitchin Folk Club, located at The Sun Hotel, Sun Street, Hitchin – Herts. Megson are no strangers to the former BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Folk Club of The Year, but this night promises to be an extra special occasion with the inclusion of support act The Young’Uns. These three singers, also fellow smoggies – are causing waves on the folk scene with their stunning 3 part accapella singing and tantalising Teesside wit. The music starts at 8:15pm – don’t be late!
Acousticity – Colchester
September 29th, 2011
Megson are delighted to be performing at Acousticity in The Headway Theatre, Colchester on Saturday the 15th October. Support for the evening will be the wonderful Jess Morgan who in our opinion is one of the best new songwriters emerging form the acoustic scene – and we are not alone, as BBC Radio 2’s Steve Lamacq, aka LAMO, is also a big fan. Check out Jess’s website here. Tickets for the evening are available from the theatre box office on 01206 366000.
