To celebrate twenty years on the road we have delved into our back catalogue to bring fresh life to the traditional ballad “The Oak & The Ash” first recorded on our On The Side album. Telling of a maid from northern England who has strayed to London & now wishes to return to home the song proclaims;
“The oak and the ash and the bonny ivy tree, They flourish at home in my own country”
When we first heard this song twenty years ago it immediately jumped out as something to try performing, especially as we’d just left our home town for London! Hope you enjoy this new version 🙂
